Ecuador has been a member of the ILO since 1934. The country has ratified 62 Conventions (of which 55 are currently in force), including eight of the ten fundamental Conventions.

The ILO team in Ecuador contributes to the promotion of decent work and social justice through technical assistance activities with the country's tripartite partners: governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations.

ILO actions in Ecuador are coordinated from the ILO Office for the Andean Countries.
