Exploring and Tackling Barriers to Indigenous Women’s Participation and Organization
A study based on qualitative research in Bangladesh, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Cameroon and Guatemala
The result of a qualitative research project undertaken by the ILO with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), this study aims at identifying and analysing barriers to participation and organization faced by indigenous women at multiple levels. Findings and recommendations emerging from the research are a timely contribution to building a COVID-19 response and recovery that addresses long-standing patterns of exclusion and discrimination experienced by the over 240 million indigenous women around the world.
