Skills Development and Responsible Business Conduct for Transition
Funded by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the project aims at putting in place supportive measures to accompany all enterprises efforts to promote responsible business conduct in line with international labour standards and in harmony with national development priorities.

- Provide skills development to enhance workers’ responsiveness and productivity for structural transformation to a sustainable economy, including respect for human rights, which is consistent with the country’s development priorities;
- Promote responsible business conduct including corporate activities in harmony with the country’s development priorities and respect for the principles of international labour standards;
- Promote an environment to contribute towards a transition to resilient supply chains from the perspectives of trade and investment.
Target beneficiaries
- Multinational enterprises in the automotive industries and Electrical & Electronics (E&E) in Indonesia and Thailand
- Other key industry stakeholders – both nationals and multinationals (especially Japanese)
Constituents and stakeholders
- Tripartite constituents: the governments, employers and workers organizations in the partner countries
- Japanese industry stakeholders
- Other national stakeholders: vocational training institutions, export promotion agencies, investment promotion agencies and labour inspection services
- Other international organisations: the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Organisation for Economic Development and Co-operation (OECD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and others.
